How Long We Retain Your Data

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

If you leave a comment or review, the comment (or review) and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that create an account on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user account. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We retain inactive accounts for 5 years. This is so that you may return to our site and easily order from us in the future.

We retain pending orders for 60 days. We retain failed orders for 2 years. We retain canceled orders for 2 years. This is both for tax and accounting reasons and so that we may contact you to resolve any issues with your order.

Where We Send Your Data

In addition to the ways that we share data that we’ve mentioned above, we also send certain data to third parties in order to conduct our business. We only work with firms that share our high commitment to security and privacy.

Spam Prevention

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Site Backups

We back up our entire web site, including its component databases, on Amazon web servers twice daily. Retired backups are deleted after 90 days.

Credit Card Information

We DO NOT collect credit card information or store it on our servers and we do not have access to it at any time during or after your transaction. Instead, your credit card information is collected directly by our credit card payment gateway, Authorize.net. Authorize.net is one of the world’s leading credit card processors. It uses the strongest possible encryption methods to protect your data at each step of the purchase process. Additional Information

Children’s Privacy

This website is not directed to anyone under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 on the site. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a visitor under the age of 13 on this site, we will delete the information from our records.

How We Protect Your Data

Protecting your personal information is a priority at eScents Of. Our site uses Full 2048-bit encryption technology and meets all PCI Security measures to protect your identity and information.

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

Firewall

We have hardened our website with a robust firewall which protects it and your information from hacking, malware installation and DDoS attacks.

SSL

We use Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) technology to protect the transmission over the Internet of your payment card data. You can check the security of your connection by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure site, the first characters of the site address change from “http” to “https.” If you are using a web browser or firewall that does not permit communications through secure sites, you will not be able to make purchases on our site.

Digital certificates secure communications between your browser and our secure servers. Through electronic credentials, digital certificates help identify and encrypt electronic messages over networks like the Internet, company intranets or extranets. SSL encrypts your order information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than us.

Passwords

We force all users of this site, including our staff, to maintain strong passwords to access their accounts.

Staff Training

Our staff participates in annual privacy training in order to ensure that everyone who has access to Personal Data understands how to maintain and protect it.

What Data Breach Procedures We Have in Place

We have internal procedures in place to immediately revoke data access privileges and the employment status of anyone in our organization who is discovered to be misusing personal data. We regularly conduct data audits in order to ensure that such activities are not occurring.

In the unlikely event that our site is hacked, we have contracts in place with web professionals who will begin to restore functionality and data integrity within hours. Should any data breach occur, we will contact you as soon as possible and recommend any steps that you should take.

Limits of Our Policy

This privacy policy only covers eScents Of, LLC’s own collecting and handling of data. We only work with partners, affiliates and third-party providers whose privacy policies align with ours, however we cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy practices.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and policies of those sites and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy practices.

At our discretion, we may change our privacy policy to reflect current acceptable practices. We will take reasonable steps to let users know about changes via our website. If you are a registered user on https://leatherstock.com, we will also notify you of major changes using the contact details saved in your account. Your continued use of this site after any changes to this policy will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and personal information.
